CHSWFF 2020

For as long as I could remember, living in the South and being so fascinated with food as well as the people that make the food, Charleston Wine + Food Festival has always been the pinnacle of food festivals in my mind. The first one I've ever attended was the 10th anniversary which was incredibly overwhelming and a huge culture shock. I also remember saying how fulfilling it would be to document one of their festivals.

Fast forward, that opportunity showed up and I had to show and prove. One thing I can say about photographing a festival of that magnitude is the fact that I have a huge amount of respect and appreciation for all of those in the food and beverage industry. CHSWFF was a great platform to showcase the works of those in the industry along with providing information to those who have an interest in various areas to the industry from the history of food, origins, cultures, cocktail classes, cooking classes, wine tastings, marketing & pr, to restaurant management.

One of the biggest takeaways was seeing how food brings people of all backgrounds together. Through that festival, I saw connections being made, I saw people step out of their comfort zones to experience something out of their norm.
